Suzuki is a Japanese car manufacturer founded in 1909 by Michio Suzuki as Suzuki Loom Works. Initially the company existed to weave looms for Japan’s silk industry until it diversified into small car production in 1937. The first car the company produced was the Susuki Suzulight in 1955, previous to this they had only released motorcycles.

Over the years, Suzuki began to gain popularity for their small fuel efficient cars and motorcycles. The company were leaders in mini-car productions, Fronte 600 gaining significant attention in Japan. Their practical and economical cars began to be exported worldwide. In the 70s the Suzuki Jimny, a compact off-road SUV, gained global popularity and still does to this day selling 2.85 million units by 2018. The Jimny is an incredibly versatile car where style meets utility. Shortly after in 1983, the Suzuki Swift was introduced to the market. This subcompact car is still being produced and has gone through many facelifts across the generations. 

In the new millennium Suzuki started to focus primarily on compact cars and SUVs. This selection includes the Suzuki Ignis meaning Suzuki Fire, first produced in 2000. Secondly, the Suzuki Vitara, now in its fourth generation is classed as a subcompact crossover SUV after its most recent facelift. Next we have the Suzuki S-Cross, known for its good value in money and style. On the smaller end of the scale is the Suzuki Alto, currently in its ninth generation known as the city car.
