What are the different types of Goodyear tyres?

Driving in the UK means you face many different kinds of weather conditions throughout the year. This is why Goodyear has developed winter, summer, and all season tyres that can keep you safer on the roads all year round. Here's what you need to know about them:

Goodyear winter tyres – These are fitted when temperatures drop below 5-7°C to keep you safer on slippery road surfaces due to snow or frost. Goodyear winter tyres are made from more natural rubber to make them softer, and this, plus deeper treads, allows them to interlock with roads better for greater traction.

Goodyear summer tyres – Designed for when temperatures rise above 7°C, summer tyres feature a lower proportion of natural rubber, so they can adapt to hot climates without going soft. This, along with fewer sipes (sideways or zig-zagging grooves cut into the tread to get rid of water) and shallower treads, results in less friction, which will be much better for your car's fuel efficiency.

Goodyear all season tyres – All season tyres are made to perform all year round, across the whole range of weather conditions you can face in the UK. They have shallower tread depth than winter tyres but deeper tread than summer options, so are designed to suit moderate, all-seasons' weather and driving conditions.

What's more, we also have a huge selection of motorhome and van tyres from Goodyear – all available at budget-friendly prices.
